A gaggle of kids flocked together on the banks of Elk River in Noel, Mo., inside the River Ranch Resort Rendezvous Room, to construct their own personal duck call and learn how to imitate the basic sounds of mallard ducks.
The event, hosted by Young Outdoorsmen United, attracted nearly 40 area youth ages 5-18.
“Tonight was fun! I didn’t know how to blow a duck call before,” revealed 9-year-old Tyce Hardin from Goodman, MO., “but I can now!”
Hardin’s twin brother, Trey, added: “Is it duck season yet?”
Both boys were first time participants in the organizations monthly events.
