Caterpillar invasion? It may seem like that if you have caterpillars trying to get into your garage or house but don’t worry, they aren’t after your food.
“Woolly Bear caterpillars are tiny brown and black furry caterpillars that are looking for shelter for the winter,” said Rob Lawrence, forest entomologist for the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Lawrence has been receiving more reports of these caterpillars this fall than in previous years.
“We don’t really know why exactly they are more prominent this year. It could be because of the weather but it’s hard to tell,” said Lawrence.
