On Thursday, October 16th, I finally cracked open a fortune cookie I obtained three days prior.
I didn’t have high hopes for it, considering my daughter and her boyfriend opened theirs and got the exact same fortunes.
However, mine was different. It stated: “A deeper appreciation of life’s beauty is in your future.”
I tossed it on the kitchen counter and ate the cookie. As for the fortune, I was skeptical. I was experiencing a rough kickoff to October and didn’t really think “beauty” was in the forecast.
Later that evening, I saw a curbside alert on Facebook Marketplace for some freebies in great condition about six miles from my house.
