From talented glass artisans to the owners of my daughter’s favorite Mexican restaurant and everything in between, if I can put my dollars into the pockets of those who own and operate their own businesses, you can bet I will do so.
In my life I have seen the impact not supporting local businesses can have on a community.
To this day, I still have fond childhood memories that include trips to small stores located in Spring Creek, Duke, and Big Piney. All three of which have since closed.
One stands today as a home, while the others have been completely demolished or are in the process of it.
With that said, it shouldn’t be a shock that recently I suggested to a dear friend that we stop for lunch in Edgar Springs when we were traveling from Rolla to Houston.
