I have driven through Bourbon MANY times in my life on my way to explore nearby public lands filled with forests, meadows, springs, creeks, and rivers.
Passing through this charming Missouri town located just off I-44 on Historic Route 66 was just a part of my route.

I didn’t really give it much thought, but then something possessed me one day to pull over and walk the sidewalks along the downtown area.
Small, yet charming, this little stretch of pavement is a good spot to take a driving break.
Sometimes, I simply park the car, go for a stroll, sit on a bench, and take 10 to 15 minutes away from the monotony of the road.
Recently, while seeking my new-to-me home, my realtor Lisa Halbert and I discussed the charm of Bourbon.
