September, in our area of the country, offers a blend of lingering summer heat during the day and the first hints of autumn during the evenings.
Summer is still officially with us until the 22nd. Days may start with a hint of crisp morning air, but warm up to summer temperatures during the day and then cool off at night.
Look closely, and you will see the leaves starting to change a little. Some leaves may have already fallen and crunch underfoot.
Squirrels will be busy collecting leaves and sticks to build nests and gathering acorns to store away for the winter.
Hopefully, they will remember where they hid them when they need them.
