• No, not the boys from the other side of the big water. But still loved by millions! The beetle spin. That fabulous little grub with the safety pin spinner. It was most likely the first spinner bait that you used as a child.
I remember when I first saw them as a child back in the early 70s. They were just coming out on the market and from the first moment I saw them, I had to have one!
I still recall the excitement and jubilation that I felt at the thought of casting these into my favorite creeks and ponds. And I was not disappointed, either! I became a pro overnight!
Or so I believed. There wasn’t a fish that was safe from certain capture when I was using one of these.
