Plan a visit to one of Missouri’s geological wonders

Most people that I know have never been to Grand Gulf State Park. In fact, most people that I know have never even heard of Grand Gulf State Park.

This is probably because of its location. It is in Thayer, Missouri, right near the Arkansas border.

Grand Gulf is a destination park. In other words, you have to plan a special trip to go there.

Many people drive through Thayer to get to the popular Mammoth Spring in Arkansas just a few miles south, and they drive right past Grand Gulf State Park not knowing it is there.

Grand Gulf is considered to be one of Missouri’s geological wonders. These are places created by earth-shaping forces such as glaciers, volcanoes, collapsing caves, and ancient seas.
