The little town of New Haven is located on the Missouri River in Franklin County, Missouri. It is off of Highway 100 with a population just over 2,000.
The small downtown area consists of a few blocks of unique businesses along the river. Â
Many of these attract tourists like the Astral Glass Studio and Gallery, the Pickney Bend Distillery, the New Day Mercantile, and the North Star Coffee House.
There is also a small museum downtown for New Haven’s most famous former resident, mountain man John Colter. Â
John Colter was a member of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and aside from Meriwether Lewis and William Clark, he is probably the best known.
