Missouri has a new national park. Although buildings and land first started being acquired in 2018, Ste. Genevieve National Historic Park officially opened Oct. 30, 2020.
I decided to visit Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, and check out this new park to see what is there.
The new park currently consists of a visitor center and three historic buildings from the 1700s that are available to tour.

According to the park ranger, plans for the future are to acquire additional buildings and historic sites in town through donations or purchases as funds become available.
There is also a National Park Administration office building there.
Ste. Genevieve National Historic Park is the newest organization in Ste. Genevieve dedicated to preserving the history of the oldest European settlement in Missouri, and the first west of the Mississippi River.
