Personal best… beaten!

I have been fishing with Jason Schniederhahn of stlcatfishing.com many times.

Bill Hoagland

I am happy to say that they have all been very successful, both for paddlefish at Lake of the Ozarks and for blue cats in the Mississippi River under the St. Louis Arch.

This year’s 2-day spoonbill adventure was going to be special.

Connor Dietrich, my 14-year-old grandson, would be trying for not only his first paddlefish, but hopefully the biggest fish of his life, a couple of times.

Connor’s largest fish prior to this trip was a 22-pound blue catfish taken at Clinton Lake in Illinois. He has also landed a couple of “Ozark Redfish “in the 10- 15-pound range.
