Osage River education

I grew up in SE Missouri fishing mostly crystal-clear Ozark Mountain streams and rivers.

Courtois Creek (Codeaway), Current River and Big River are where I learned what it took to be a successful angler.

Thanks to my dad, Glen Roux, and my two grandfathers, Guy Roux and Leeman Gammon, for the time they all took to teach me those skills.

Since then, the vast majority of my fishing has been in impoundments across this continent.

Last month I had an invitation to get back on a river to catch some fish with a true river-fishing professional.

It was a trip down memory lane and one I cannot wait to repeat.

Earlier this year I met Ed Franko. Ed is a fishing guide at Lake of the Ozarks in central Missouri. Big Ed’s Guide Service has been in operation at The Lake for decades.
