Last year was a time of growth for MSTWC (the Missouri Stream Team Watershed Coalition). Much of our efforts this past year focused on diversification of funding.
We hosted a variety of fundraising events that rose very close to our goal of $25,000. This fundraising goal was necessary and crucial in supporting the growth of the advocacy component of the Stream Team program. We are very pleased of the foundational work that developed in 2015 for advocacy.
These efforts will increase the voice for Missouri waterways and we are eager to grow that voice even further in 2016.
MSTWC also grew in associations! We would like to extend a warm welcome to Yadkin Creek Watershed Coalition, Lake of the Ozarks Watershed Alliance (LOWA), and The League of Watershed Guardians.
Yadkin Creek is spring-fed creek that runs through Steelville and is in the Meramec River watershed. This association will focus on restoration projects and being a voice for local watershed issues.
