I’m going to share with you my all-time favorite canoeing stretch of river.
As many readers have already figured out, I call both Eleven Point and the Current River home rivers.
Living this close to such pristine floating streams can spoil a person. But I do have my favorite.
I have floated nearly every floatable stream across the bottom of the state. Out of all the rivers in the state, my absolute favorite to float is the section of Current River between Van Buren downriver to Doniphan; and float that stretch from the middle of September until Halloween.
No other river in the state can even come close to what this section has to offer the paddler at this time of year.
