MTNF to begin prescribed fires

Favorable weather conditions in place for hazardous fuels reduction work

Mark Twain National Forest (MTNF) is planning prescribed fire operations this November, pending all required approvals.

Forest officials estimate this work to continue through December as weather conditions allow.

Prescribed fires are used to help reduce overgrown vegetation to help protect local communities, infrastructure and natural resources from wildfires.
