I was exploring the backroads south of St. Clair a few years ago and stumbled upon Little Indian Creek Conservation Area in Sullivan, Mo.
This gem is far from little. Coming in at 4,204 acres, this area packs quite a punch!
There are shooting ranges and trails, along with camping options and the creek itself. This spot has a little bit of something for everyone.
It is important to note that camping does require a special use permit, but the peace and solitude of the primitive camping area is certainly worth the paperwork.

There are vault toilets in the primitive camping area and dedicated spots to set up camp.
Camping must be requested at least 10 days in advance. Call (636) 441-4554 to request a camping permit.
