Having grown up in Missouri and living the majority of my 67 years here, I am more than familiar with deer hunting in the “Show-Me” State.
I still hunt here every gun season and am proud to say I have taken deer in over a dozen different Missouri counties.
My opening morning started with lots of action. Had I been on a mission to fill tags, I could have been done at 8:30 a.m.
The very first deer I saw, right at daylight, was a young 8-point buck. I watched him cross the alfalfa field that my stand covered. The buck moved off into standing corn.
