The Missouri spring turkey season is less than two months away.
In the past, this is when we would root through our hunting closet and dust off the turkey stuff and determine what new gadgets we desperately needed to bag that elusive gobbler.
And that would require the annual trip to the St. Louis Outdoor Show in February with my hunting buddy, Bill Selby, where we would look for the newest fail-proof gadgets for a successful turkey hunt.
In fact, I always suspected that the vendors at the show knew that we were those two idiots who always wasted good money on gadgets no one else would buy.
Maybe it is my imagination but it seemed as if the vendors leaned out of their stalls to see if we were coming down their aisle yet.
