“If the rock garden doesn’t get you, the panther will.” A somewhat ominous thing for a river guide to say on a float, but it still made me smile.
And Mountain View resident Mike Gaddy certainly didn’t disappoint when it came to his knowledge of the Jacks Fork.
My former kayak instructor and friend, Dave Tobey, invited Jenn, myself, and our friend, Julie, on a float from The Prongs to Buck Hollow back in April.

I had missed doing this stretch a couple of years ago when the Ozark Riverways Foundation organized a float.
I was not going to miss this opportunity this year.
So, we headed out one early Saturday morning, the 4Runner packed with paddling gear, to meet our group at the Buck Hollow Access before shuttling up to The Prongs.
