Just a few weeks ago, I decided to drive to Little Indian Creek Conservation Area to take a scenic stroll.
However, thanks to a multitude of spring storms, the low-water crossing was flowing high and swift.

I parked my vehicle, took a gander, and decided against driving across it. Instead, I turned around and took a scenic drive down Little Indian Creek Road towards Richwoods.
While I was standing at that low-water crossing, I thought back to several months ago.
The first half of November 2024 was a doozy when it came to heavy rains. I remember leaving my camper near the Big Piney River on a Monday.
I checked the forecast and river gauge predictions throughout the afternoon into the evening, but things didn’t seem that bad.
