Eleven Point State Park is now in the planning stage

The State of Missouri bought 4,200 acres of land near Riverton, Mo., in 2016 using money the state received from a settlement involving lead mining.

This land was planned to be a new state park called Eleven Point State Park.

Seven years later, the park is still not open. There were many reasons that kept the park from opening, including lawsuits and legal judgments.

I have been watching all of this and waiting to finally see this state park open. I was thrilled to see that on May 13, that there was an open house and public meeting scheduled to announce the plans for Eleven Point State Park.
