Dory’s name honors salamander species

What’s in a name? If you’re the builder of a Grand Canyon dory, plenty.

Last month I attended the monthly meeting of the Watershed Committee of the Ozarks at Valley Water Mill Park in Springfield.

Watershed has been holding their monthly meetings for over 30 years now, beginning at 7:30 a.m. on the first Friday of the month.

A pot of coffee is always brewing, but when the speaker is especially enthralling, you don’t need it.

Last month, Jason Frantz, a master woodworker and former JRBP board member, gave a presentation on his experiences building and then paddling the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon.
