The days are getting longer, life is feeling a bit sunnier and greener, and I want to shout from the rooftops, “Virginia Bluebells are coming to Missouri!”
Virginia Bluebells are my favorite spring-blooming flower. There’s something incredibly magical about walking a path surrounded by them.
Even though the word blue is in the name, some of them are nearly white, while others take on practically a purple hue.
The buds tend to start out pink and normally shift to blue upon opening.
Bluebells form in clusters and their flowers literally hang like bells as their name implies. They can grow upwards of two feet tall.
