Dewey Short Visitor Center, state parks reservations

One of my favorite visitor centers in the Ozarks is open to the public, once again.

Yes!

Hours of operation for the Dewey Short Visitor Center will be:

• March 1-May 28: Tuesday thru Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

• May 29-Sept. 5: Sunday thru Saturday, 9 a.m.-4.pm.

• Sept. 6-Nov. 30: Tuesday thru Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

• Dec. 1, 2022-Feb. 28, 2023: Closed for the season.

All visitors are requested to wear masks and follow proper social distancing.

Located just south of Table Rock Dam on State Highway 165, the visitor center offers several interactive displays including a hands-on augmented reality sandbox that allows visitors to create their own watershed.

This is a really cool visitor center, with great decks for viewing the lake and just soaking in the lake/dam atmosphere. Plus, you can get a great view of the fireworks set off near Chateau on the Lake from the decks.
