I had really backed myself into a corner. I had chosen a great place for my stand. I was situated along the edge of an alfalfa field and the deer were feeding in the field each evening.
I scouted the field and watched deer routinely emerge from a trail in the woods and enter the field. I estimated the predominant wind direction forecast and hung my stand accordingly.
The first evening of my hunt I was sitting above that trail watching a few does filter by me. I had extreme confidence that it was just a matter of time before I would be dragging a buck back to my truck.
