Steelville is known for being the “Floating Capitol of Missouri.”
It’s a term that makes sense to me considering how close it is to a multitude of rivers and outfitters primed to help people enjoy a good float trip.
The town is charming with canoe art along the streets and in front of local businesses.
There’s also a huge canoe sculpture in the sky!
Yet, as people pass through to grab essential items for their weekend getaway on one of the floatable rivers, they may miss two of my favorite spots in Steelville.
Hoppe Spring Park is a lovely spot.
It’s a great place to stretch your legs after a long drive.
