You have one here, you have one there, you have one everywhere. That is a Pilot Knob.
What caught my eye was an email from a tower friend asking some questions about the Pilot Knob Tower south of Rolla.
He was asking if I had any historical ideas on the tower. I checked with Jim Parker and Max Gorman, collected what info I could and emailed him back.
I had always viewed the Pilot Knob Tower there as an MDC tower, but it seems it is on Forest Service land and was operated by the MDC through an agreement.
