Guests can once again book the cabins at Big Lake State Park, thanks to the park team and Missouri State Parks northern construction crew.
The cabins closed in March 2019, due to major flood damage. Once repairs to the levee, which protects the park from flooding, were completed in summer of 2021, park team members began cleaning and repairing the sites to get cabins reopened.
Big Lake State Park features eight premium camper cabins overlooking Big Lake. The log cabins provide accommodations for up to four adults and two children.
These accommodations include a queen-size bed, a full-size futon and a carpeted loft for sleeping bags. Guests must provide their own towels, linens, sleeping bags, coffee and filters and toiletries.
