This story was told by my father many times and I still can see tears running down his face while he laughed and told it.
The story starts at the Rush Island Power Plant while it was being built. Dad was the superintendent on the job and one of the welders asked Dad if he wanted to go fishing with three other mechanics this next weekend. Dad said that he couldn’t go this weekend but maybe next time.
On Monday, Dad asked how the fishing trip went and where John, one of the fishermen who went on the fishing trip, was? The man who went with John said that John was in the hospital.
Dad asked what the other fishermen (workers) had done to him. The other fisherman started to relate the story to a group of men standing with Dad.
