It’s just a car. Last month, by beloved 2005 Toyota 4Runner was rear-ended in Marshfield by an irresponsible driver going way too fast on wet pavement.
Thankfully, neither Jenn nor my son were seriously hurt. But the Runner is a total loss.

No matter how hard I tried with calculations, internet searches, and several visits to local auto body shops, I just couldn’t save her.
That 4Runner – who bore Missouri Stream Team license plates named after the Scottish poet Robert Burns’s border collie, Luath – has a lot of memories inside her.
I bought her back in summer 2020. The first wave of COVID had subsided, and folks were taking advantage of any outdoor activity to get away from lockdowns and toilet paper shortages.
My first outdoor adventure with the Runner was on the Glade Top Trail. I fancied myself as suping her up for Overlanding but switched to kayaking instead.
