Fifty-plus volunteers gathered at the Log Yard Current River gravel bar for the Ozark Heritage Project’s 15th annual cleanup staged there.
Another couple of tons of debris were removed from that stretch of river, including more than a dozen large green bags of trash, 15 smaller red-mesh bags, a few blue bags and assorted debris — all on a day that hovered near 100 degrees.
Debris included a large tractor tire, a truck tire, a metal barrel, two old railroad ties, plastic buckets, and a four-foot section of large metal angle iron.
