Be sure the bolt handle clears the scope eyepiece before locking down the ring screws. If it does not, a set of higher rings may be necessary.

As with anyone that writes for a publication, I am always thrilled to hear from our readers. Last month’s submission (“How Much Scope Do You Really Need?”) must have struck a chord with many of you because I received several emails on the topic.

Some readers agreed with me. A couple did not. And a few more wanted to get my take on different types of optics.

One particular gentleman was seeking advice on how to mount and zero a scope for his rifle. I gave him a few tips that helped line it out, but I got to thinking this could make for a good article.
