One year ago today, Shelly and I were in Madrid, Spain. to see our youngest son and family (more about this later).
Our son is working overseas. We thought it was our last chance to see them (especially our grandson) before we set off on our National Park Journey.
One year later, we have been to 51 national parks, numerous national monuments and several state parks. As we near the end of this adventure we are ready to report that it has been a blast!
We are so grateful to have had this opportunity and thankful to all who have followed and encouraged us.
On Tuesday, March 10, we left for our last long trip. Our first stop was Page, Ariz., to see and photograph Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend.
From there it was on to California for stops at Death Valley National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, and Channel Islands National Park. It was our first visit to these California gems.
On March 22 we flew to Kona, Hawaii, for Volcanos National Park. While we were there, Shelly took a week-long photography class.
