I also have noted the sad state of the trees on my visits to the Bootheel. You can see forever down there anyhow, and now you can see miles and miles of deadwood. Residents won't lack for firewood next winter. Too bad this cellulosic ethanol process isn't further along, to provide an additional use for all the limbs and such.
