Traveler Hats Available Two Ways:

1) Order one.
These adjustable sized baseball-style caps with River Hills Traveler embroidered across the front are available to anyone for $14.95 plus $1.06 tax, or $16.01, if you pick one up on most Mondays at our office at 21B Vance Road, Valley Park, Missouri. If we send it to you via the U.S. Post Office, there is another $3.50 charge for one hat; slightly less per hat for multiples shipped at the same time. We're usually in the office 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.; please call 800-874-8423 Ext. 2 to be sure before making a special trip. If you are a Traveler paid subscriber, (or you subscribe when you order a hat) you get a special deal -- the cap is $9.95, and the tax is 71 cents, for a pickup total of $10.66. (Unfortunately, the USPS charges everyone the same shipping.)

We got a special deal on this set of 48 caps: a Mossy Oak breakup pattern (more green, and finer detail that what Trav is wearing) at an unbelievable price.

  • These caps are still jockey-style caps, but they are much roomier than the first batch. They come with a Velcro adjustable strap, and even fit over Jo's hairdo.
  • You can spread the word about the "River Hills" -- the Real Ozarks -- where you live and play.
  • Face it. You had a coonskin cap as a kid. (Or you wanted one.) With a Traveler cap, you can relive those days, but no one will stare at you in the grocery store.

    Every month, while supplies last, we give away a hat to some lucky paid purchaser or subscriber. To be entered in the drawing, a person must either subscribe, or pick up a copy of Traveler at one of our many newsstand locations. Somewhere in the paper is "Where's Trav?" -- a coupon to be filled out and returned postmarked by the 15th of that month to be eligible. We nearly always require the original coupon to be returned (usually via U.S. mail, although you could drop it off) with the location of Trav in our advertisements correctly identified. (Ads by and for the Traveler, such as subscription forms, or book sales, don't count.) The lucky winner is selected by random drawing, notified, and his or her free hat arrives a few days later.

    With every Traveler hat comes bragging rights, good at any campfire, coffee shop, fishing store, gravel bar or gun shop in the eastern Ozarks. They can be used to catch bait, avoid sunburn, keep your head warm, attract the opposite sex, shade your eyes, fan yourself, hold jigs, flies and trout tags, as a water dipper, as a peanut tray, and to keep track of shell casings, pretty rocks or small parts.
